Keep Alive keeps Wi-Fi connection alive on your Windows Phone
So you have a Windows Phone and hate the fact that the OS kills the Wi-Fi connection every time you lock the phone? Sure. I hate it too. And I mostly don’t have a data connection on the HD7, and rely on Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. And being disconnected every time I lock the phone, and having to wait for 2-5 seconds after unlocking it, for the Wi-Fi to connect.. is a pain, to say the least. Enter Keep Alive.
The app keeps the Wi-Fi connection alive by pinging every now and then, so your IM apps aren’t as broken because of the disconnections which used to happen earlier. However, if you already have the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone, you may not need this app. WhatsApp also keeps the connection alive by accessing the streaming API, and so, other apps which need an internet connection, can be safely suspended in the background and you can lock the device without worrying about missing your messages.
Either way, the app is available for free in the Marketplace, so you might as well check it out once.
